Media Makes Ruckus About Snakes On A Train In NYC

October 16, 2014

The mainstream media is making a huge deal about a man who brought his boa constrictor and ball python on a New York subway October 13.  The man apparently entered the C- train at Canal Street in Lower Manhattan, sat down and pulled the snakes out of his backpack. After placing one of the snakes onto the hand rail he was photographed by Eric Hertzog,  apparently kissing the head of the other snake. This all happened not during rush hour, but at 11 p.m.  Hertzog posted the photos to his Instagram with the quote “Dude just letting his snake chill like it's nothing”

When passengers attempted to sit next to him, Hertzog, a producer at radio station 103.5 KTU said that the man would warn them that he had his snakes out.

While some chose another seat on the train, one woman seemingly didn’t mind and attended to her digital device while sitting next to the herp lover.

“This behavior appears to violate Section 1050.9(h)(1) of the MTA New York City Transit Rules of Conduct — or as we call it, the Samuel L. Jackson Rule,” MTA spokesman Adam Lisberg, told the New York Post.

No harm, no foul. The  guy loves his snakes and apparently enjoys taking them out to roam the subways of New York City.
