Do you remember the story about the Florida woman who was charged with animal cruelty after a video was posted of her allegedly torturing a hatchling gopher tortoise? Well, the last we reported she was found incompetent to stand trial, but the latest news is that her bond was revoked and she is back in jail.
Jennifer Emoke Greene was arrested last month on a warrant in Callahan, Fla., and was sent to the Nassau County Jail and then Clay County Jail, Jacksonville.com reported. According to the report, the woman who posted bond for Greene said she doesn’t want to be responsible and the bond was revoked.

This hatchling gopher tortoise was doused with lighter fluid, set on fire, thrown in the air and ultimately stomped on in a case of animal cruelty in Florida.
Greene has been ruled twice to be incompetent to stand trial. A third hearing on her competence was scheduled for February 8, but no information is available with regard to the outcome of that hearing.
Greene was arrested after an animal rights group found a video posted to Facebook allegedly showing her and another teenager torturing, burning and finally stomping to death a baby gopher tortoise, an endangered species. She pled not guilty to the charge of animal cruelty and a misdemeanor charge of taking, harming, harassing or killing the gopher tortoise. If she is found guilty of the charges against her, she could face up to 5 years in prison.
