A bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps) was pulled from a house fire in DeFuniak Springs, FL and  saved with the help of Walton County Fire Rescue Paramedic Rachel Barker, one of several who assisted in administering oxygen to the beardie to help it recover.

The reptile was assessed by Barker, who happens to keep two beardies of her own. The rescue and the saving of the structure was due to teamwork by WCFR, DeFuniak Springs Fire Department, Liberty Volunteer and Argyle Volunteer.

The Facebook post devolved into name calling amongst other agencies that responded to the house fire, but that seems to have been all cleared up and the bearded dragon was in good hands.
